I am a wife, mom, and southern girl that loves Jesus!  I believe that God has a plan for our lives, and sometimes it is really hard to understand what that plan is.  Right now with the journey I am facing, I am asking for your prayers.

On April 3, 2017, I went for my yearly routine diagnostic mammogram.  After the radiologist looked at the mammogram, I was sent immediately for a sonogram because of something they saw that was not there the previous year.  After the sonogram, it was determined that a biopsy was needed.  They were able to do my biopsy that same morning.

On April 5, 2017 at 9:53AM, I received the call no one wants to receive from my doctor.  The biopsy results showed that I had Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Grade 3.  I was devastated, but I have been blessed with one of the best doctors – she has walked with me through the loss of a child and she has had the joy of telling me I delivered a healthy baby girl.  Now she was telling me that I had cancer.  After I cried on the phone with her, she told me we would get me in with one of the best doctors for this.

Already I have shed many tears, but I have had moments of laughter.  I know through this journey there will be more tears and more laughter along the way.  I am thankful for the army of friends God has placed around my family and me as we fight this battle.  We are thankful for all the prayers that are being prayed daily for both myself and my family as they are walking through this with me.

I look forward to the day I can come on here and type the words that I am cancer free.  Please join us in prayer for God’s complete healing of my body and pray for all of my doctors and nurses along the way as they determine my plans of treatment and the surgeries that will come in the fall.
